kamakura

This is Kamakura. The red paint on the temple gates and the green needles of the old pine trees that decorate the grounds make for a beautiful scene. If you ever travel to Tokyo this is one of the places you should visit. It is less than an hour away by train. The temples and traditional architecture give it a feel for what Japan was once like when feudal lords rode through the town on horseback. There are also lots of great restaurants and shops that cater to modern tastes as well as traditional sensibility.
