I truly believe that the Tokyo/Yokohama music scene is the most exciting in the world. Deep in the underground musicians here continue to be the vanguard of creativity and melodic expression. I believe this is a backlash against a major music industry that is very bland in terms of variety and artistic depth. From what I can tell artists in the Tokyo Yokohama underground refuse to be pigeonholed and are happy as flowers in the sun to be free to create whatever musical concoction they want. It really is inspiring to watch and be a part of.
