$1000 to the ones who survive

There used to be a saying that went “boys are made of snips and snails and puppy dog tails. Girls are made of sugar and spice and everything nice.” I think they forgot to add the ice. This is the 10th or 11th girl I saw today wearing no stockings or tights and a super short skirt in this cold December weather. I had on jeans, a sweater, a long sleeved T shirt, and a down puffer jacket and I still was cold. What superpowers do these girls have? Did they go through some sort of Tibetan monk training so that they could become impervious to Winter’s cold winded bite? There's a famous quote by Kate Moss that goes , “nothing tastes as good as skinny feels .” Maybe this is the logic that makes stuff like this happen. Maybe it is a spinoff of childhood memories. Here in Japan, parents dress their children in shorts and no winter coat and send them off to school. The idea is that the cold will make the children stronger. Children don't seem to be freezing. I see them giggling away with their rosy cheeks and knees all exposed to the winter wind.

In my hometown of Cleveland OH, December is when the Hawk comes. That's that cold, brutal wind that sweeps over Lake Erie from Canada and brings with it subzero temperatures and lots of snow. I'd like to see these girls try and survive a Cleveland winter dressed like this. If I were a billionaire I might even offer a challenge, $1000 to the ones who survive. Of course that would be a fool's challenge because in the minds of the mini skirted bunnies of winter, “nothing feels cooler than skimpy fashion.”
